Dumpling week has come to Portland again so we all know what that means. For the next seven days we will have restaurants all over Portland competing to see who can make the most delicious dumpling dishes, and better yet they will be all under $10! And for us foodies on a budget we all can appreciate that. So without further ado let’s jump into our first spot of the week. Una Más Taquiza and their fried Molotes Dumplings!

The dark knight can’t decide which to try first.

Now for those who have never had one. A Molotes is a Mexican appetizer made of corn masa, rolled up and stuffed with various ingredients and then deep fried. And it’s very satisfying a bite we much say. But what impressed us with here is that Uno Más give us an option of two fillings. One for the meat lovers in our crew is a Tinga de Pollo Mololte filled with shredded chicken in a light Chile sauce, and the other for our more veggie minded foodies was a Roasted Mushroom and garlic Molote both dishes with generous portions and topped with shredded cabbage, crema and avocado sauce. At $8 per order these filling snacks are well worthy the value. We all left full.

That being said. The pollo stuffed dumplings were quite satisfying but the mushrooms although an interesting choice and lovely option for vegetarian dumpling lovers was a little lackluster in flavor.

All in all this was a fun way to start Portland dumpling week. Not your usual dumpling with unusual flavor.

We give Uno Más Taquiza Seven 🥟🥟🥟🥟🥟🥟🥟 out of Ten

Honestly though

Tinga de Pollo 8/10

Garlic Roasted Mushroom 6/10
